After a truly wonderful night, doing absolutely nothing except snuggling up watching a film and having yet another shower (because we can), we both slept like logs and awoke raring to go. Explore, Auckland Aquarium and roast dinner was the order of the day.
The Antarctic area at the aquarium was cleverly done, Matt loved seeing the penguins and I as usual was torn by the educational element of zoos/aquariums vs captivity issues.
Here's one of the mahoosive sting ray in the collection.
A stunning Green Turtle which glided so gracefully by us as we walked through the see-through tunnel.
A beautiful display of Jellyfish and
a Spiny Puffer fish who refused to puff.
Someone enjoying their shark adventure and creating even more entertainment for us.
Emerging from the underground aquarium we realised the grey sky and rain had disappeared leaving the perfect afternoon.
Back at our temporary home we made full use of the kitchenette, cooking up minted lamb rump, roast spuds, carrots and snow peas. Yum!
Meal over, Matt started rolling our belongings into the clean rucksack in readiness for our departure in the morning. Just another shower and sleep before we're on our way back to Melbourne.
