On waking we realised just how many people had snuck in, the tranquility was no more. Bladders fit to burst we raced to town and the assurance of flushing toilets.
Keen to reach Auckland, say farewell to our campervan and hello to our pre-booked apartment we travelled through brekkie and lunch finally stopping mid-afternoon near our destination. At the end of us spending almost three weeks in a very basic campervan we'd promised ourselves a bit of a splurge so pizza, veggie paella and bottle of wine later we checked in to our room.
The little apartment was an absolute oasis, bed with clean bedding, hot shower and
washing machine and dryer! Due to a waste leak in the campervan our rucksack had got drenched in grotty water, all of our clothes (even those previously washed) smelt like rotting fish so I immediately pounced on the washing and soap powder scent soon filled the air.
Whilst it has been fun motoring around New Zealand we were both more than ready for some proper sleep, a bit of comfort and smelling like human beings again.
