On arrival at Bangkok airport we take the Sky Train and an hour later we checked in to our Bangkok sweat box!  There is definitely worse accommodation, Bangkok is expensive, we have gone budget but still have air con which consists of gaping whole in ceiling which wafts out coldish air and I hope no brown furry things with long tails.  No window, corridors like Cell Block H and a door which looks like it has been kicked in a few times!  Time to avoid time in the room and head out to try and get overnight train tickets down to Surat Thani.

Unfortunately, we couldn't book train tickets online and when we get there, due to Chinese New Year, nothing is available. We head back to our room to work out our next move.  The only option is to fly, so we manage to find a cheapish flight with Thai Lion as our baggage is included.  We've been bitten on the bum previously with the budget airlines, thinking we had found good deals to then find it doesn't include baggage and the fees are exorbitant.  A couple of hours later we have a flight booked and accommodation sorted for Krabi Town on Fridcay 13th, unlucky for some!  Pleased to escape the room we head out to explore the area and amongst other things find this huge shopping centre.

After a pretty sleepless night, mainly due to some Thais staying on our floor who were shouting across to each other in different rooms, we headed off to Don Muang airport.

It may have been Friday 13th but everything went according to plan, Krabi here we come.

Our transfer was civilised and we arrived at our overnight accommodation relaxed and with a very excited Matt as Ko Lanta was on the cards for the next day.
