On the agenda for the day, Kanchanaburi 'high street' and stops at some of Matt's (and Rob's) old haunts including the Jolly Frog Backpackers which I still refuse to stay at. We checked out a room there and the mattress definitely pre-dated both of their travels (starting in 1996) by at least 10 years.  Love the restaurant and chill-out areas but the room we saw was dire, even Matt agreed.  A couple of bed bugs hobbled out when they opened the door of the 'showcase room', complete with zimmer frames and sporting Santa style beards.  We passed a bar at 9 am(ish) with a Scouse, Ozzy and couple of Germans drinking beer and talking football.  Came passed at 6 pm and they were still in the same position and drinking beer...makes you proud to be a foreigner!!

Missed the 'Death Railway' museum last visit but made up for it this trip. Still shocking to think that 100,000 lives were lost building the railway and that doesn't include accurate numbers for Asian/Indian men and women that were also forced into labour at the time.

A happy tuktuk driver and happy Matt as his feet were suffering from all the walking

and a happy Di enjoying an ice cold Singha at the end of the day
