A slight boob on our four hour flight to Don Muang airport in Bangkok, we didn't have any cash and assumed all airlines accepted debit/credit cards.  Wrong, Air Asia only accepts cards for duty free, not food or drinks.  We only had two small bottles of water with us (lucky we had that) so water was top of our agenda on landing.

Only an hour train journey into Bangkok, a couple of stops on the MRT and we arrived at our accommodation about 6pm.  Unlike our last stay in Bangkok we'd gone a little more up market and were staying in some serviced apartments.  On arrival we found out they'd given us a room upgrade so we were really chuffed.

The Bangkok heat and humidity were stifling, we were both dripping with sweat and dreaming of shower, food and bed.  In the relatively short journey from the airport into Bangkok our pores were rammed with black grime, pollution levels were sky high.  Now we were both sparkly clean we both felt the need for Italian food after all the Balinese food so pasta and pizza it was.

The next day and we had a full to the brim day planned.   Bangkok was like an oven, traffic fumes filled what little air there was as we headed for...

Wat Traimat Wittayaram (Traimit Royal Temple).

Through China Town.

A stop at the Siam Museum.

On to see, among other things, the gigantic golden Budha at Wat Pho.

Finally arriving at the Grand Palace

and Temple of the Emerald Budha.

As usual we enjoyed the photography antics of the Korean contingent, of which the palace was heaving.

An offering of our own, I think you can tell from my face, the red hue and frown, that the palace was fast losing its appeal.  After walking in the heat most of the day, by the time we had reached the palace we were both seriously flagging so we bid a hasty retreat and hailed a tuktuk.

After a couple of failed attempts at finding a tuktuk which didn't insist on a stopping at a local tourist trap to harangue us into buying something we eventually found our man.

Our tuktuk driver dropped us, as requested, at MBK shopping mall where we had hoped to pick up some pressies for Matt's nephews and niece.  After exploring all eight floors with no success we took the Sky train back to our apartment.

We had finally arrived at our last night in Bangkok and of our travels, tomorrow we fly back to the UK.  Our adventures together have been amazing, sometimes challenging, sad or hilarious and our blog has tried to share as much as possible of that with you all.  That only leaves me to say that I hope you've enjoyed the journey as much as we have and keep your eye out for our selfie collection.
